Planning your wedding can be a stressful task to face - that’s why we’re here to take some of the guesswork out of your life! A major component of your wedding is signage. If you’re asking yourself, “is wedding signage really worth it?” The answer is yes - absolutely! For starters, signage (if done correctly), adds a sense of class and elegance to your wedding. However, aside from the elegance, signage provides essential information that can really assist in the ebb and flow of your wedding day.
If you’re looking for wedding signage to send your special day over the top - stick with us, we’ve got you covered!
Welcome Signs
Let’s talk about welcome signage! You know what they say, first impressions are everything and the perfect welcome sign is a great way for your guests to get a feel for what they are about to witness! Make sure that your signage mimics the overall theme of the wedding. Are you going for a sense of elegance? Is there more edge? What's the color scheme? Whatever it is you’re going for - incorporate that into your welcome signage! Ensure you’re using the same font on your welcome signage that you are using throughout the rest of the event - all signage should have a cohesive look.
When picking a welcome sign or any signage for that matter - make sure you are keeping the material you are wanting to use in mind. There are so many different materials that you can choose from - acrylic, wood, chipboard, and more. Our personal favorite is acrylic thanks to the variety of types we carry: from matte to mirrored to frosted and more - nevermind the plethora of color options - the options are near endless. There really is something about the use of acrylics that really takes an event over the top!
Seating Charts
This is for my people who need to have order and want it as easy to access as possible. You’re going to want seating charts. There will be so many people that are going to want to talk to you and congratulate you that it may all become overwhelming. If you have a seating chart, you know exactly where everyone is going to be without having to remember it all on your own! This allows you to make your rounds as you see fit. It is also a great way for people to know exactly where they should be sitting when the food comes out. Honestly, people just seem to respond better to a little bit of order. So, skip all the chaos and running around with a customized seating chart.
Tabletop Signage
For some reason, people tend to think about their table setting last. It always seems like it’s an afterthought and then it’s too late to really make it something special. Change up the game and let your table setting be a focal point! Your actual ceremony more than likely isn’t going to last as long as the gathering after, therefore, your guests will likely spend most of their time at their tables and mingling. Give them something grand to look at.
Start with table numbers. If you’re anything like me, you like order. Therefore, you’ll likely have assigned seating arrangements for your guests. Or if you’re not - they’re still a great way for people to remember where they were sitting if they get up and start walking around. You don’t have to go over-the-top with it either, just a simple design with a number attached will do. The best materials to use for your table numbers are acrylic or wood - if you use a paper material, you’re increasing the chance of them getting damaged before the event gets good and started!
If you want to go the extra mile, consider name plates. If you’re going to assign seating, you might as well take it the extra mile and place a personalized name plate on top! These can go a long way when it comes to making your guests feel like they are an integral part of your special day. They also serve as a great keepsake, let them take them home for some memorabilia!
Our final table signage is a must - menu signage. Aside from your wedding - you know this is what the people are coming for, the food! Everyone loves gathering a good plate of food, conversing, and celebrating! Let your guests know what foods they can expect or choose from. Like with table numbers, we recommend acrylic and wood materials as your best options when it comes to menu signage. You know as well as I that drinks and food get dropped easily. You don’t want them ruining your signs!
Wrap Up
As we've shown, signage truly can make a difference! Again, it doesn’t have to be anything over the top and you do not have to use every type of signage under the sun. However, incorporating at least some of these signs can truly make your day even more manageable and even more magical (if you can imagine that). I’d tell you not to stress over the details but I know that’s probably not going to happen - it’s your wedding! So, I’ll tell you this instead, after it’s all said and done, take it all in and enjoy it.
